Halmos College Biology Students Meet Alumni at National Conference

This April, a group of Halmos College Biology students and Halmos faculty member Emily Schmitt Lavin, Ph.D. went to the 2018 Experimental Biology Meeting in San Diego, CA. There they met three Halmos College alumnae. 2003 alumna Veronica Akle, Ph.D. is now a faculty member at Universidad de Los Andes. Class of 2010 Biology major Lauren Douma, Ph.D. is currently a postdoctoral research in genomics at the University of Florida. Recent alumna Akshay Narine ’17 is currently a researcher at the National Institutes of Health. All were at the conference to present their research.
