Guy Harvey’s “Old Man and the Sea” Exhibit Opening, Apr. 4
The NSU community is invited to a new exhibit at the Alvin Sherman Library featuring original artwork by noted marine wildlife artist and conservationist Guy Harvey. On display April 5 through June 30 are original drawings and watercolors as well as prints and paintings.
In 1985 Harvey illustrated Ernest Hemingway’s novel The Old Man and the Sea, creating 44 original pen and ink drawings. A highlight of the NSU exhibit includes these original drawings which have been lent by Guy Harvey collector Dave Copham. On display are also a set of the prints owned by NSU’s Oceanographic Center.
A special Exhibit Opening is also being hosted by the library’s Circle of Friends on Wednesday, Apr. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. The opening is complimentary for Circle of Friends members, with tickets costing $25 for general admission. RSVP is required by calling 954-262-4627.
