New GTEP Orientation for the Bahamas SEC

NSU Bahamas recently held their orientation for students who enrolled in the Master of Science in Education program (GTEP) for 2012/13. Students in this new group are attending from three of the Bahamas chain of islands – New Providence, Andros and Eleuthera.

Juliett Reid, director for the Bahamas Student Educational Center, gave the welcome and introduction, while Liezette Abel-Ruffin, Ed.D., FSE Program Liaison for the Caribbean, and Diane Gaston, FSE Graduate Academic Advisor, gave an overview of the education program and advising information. Dana Fredebaugh, Ph.D.,  professor for the first course – Educational Research for Practitioners, joined the event from Fort Lauderdale via video-conference to provide the course overview. Laquel Miller, operations administrator for the Bahamas SEC. gave a presentation on the site operations to help the new students become familiar with their learning environment.

This group will complete their program in 2014.
