Greater North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Bestows Educational Leadership Honor to Dean Singleton
The Greater North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce recognized NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler School of Education Dean H. Wells Singleton, Ph.D., at a January 16, 2014 luncheon promoting local education initiatives and community service to North Miami Beach. Miami-Dade County Public School Board Member, District 3, Martin Karp, and Sarah Allison, NSU doctoral alumna in early and middle childhood education specializing in varying exceptionalities and reading, founder of Allison Academy, joined North Miami Beach Mayor George Vallejo and NMB City Councilman Anthony DiFillipo to celebrate local contributions to educational enhancement and opportunity.
Recipients were presented with a commemorative plaque recognizing distinguished service in the pursuit of educational partnership among schools, community, and the local business establishment. Awards evoked the late Nelson Mandela‘s assertion that “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
