This summer, graduate student Erik Puchoň, Pharm.D., Ph.D. candidate from Comenius University in Slovakia, spent three months studying and researching under faculty members at NSU College of Pharmacy in Fort Lauderdale/Davie.  Sponsored by the Erasmus Programme, a European Union exchange program of faculty and students, Puchoň studied geriatric patient care management, and conducted research comparing and contrasting medication management methods between the European Union and the US Health Care System.

Puchoň utilized many of the resources that NSU offers students and explored cultural activities in the greater Fort Lauderdale/Miami area. Some of the things he enjoyed most about his time at NSU COP included meeting new people, the tour of the Center for Collaborative Research, and the vast resources offered by the Alvin Sherman Library.  Puchoň plans to continue his Ph.D. studies in Slovakia, and ultimately work in the area of clinical pharmacy, using the insight and knowledge he gained while at NSU COP both in academia and in a clinical setting.
