Gov. Crist Appoints Law Alumnus to Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court
Judge James Martz II, an alumnus of NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center, was appointed by Gov. Charlie Crist to the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court on Sept. 14.
“Judge Martz’s experience as a law enforcement officer has given him an advantageous legal perspective, which has allowed him to serve the people of Palm Beach County impartially and fairly,” said Gov. Crist. “I am confident he will continue to demonstrate an ethical and honest commitment to public service.”
Judge Martz, 53, of Delray Beach, has been a Palm Beach County Court Judge since 2006. Previously, he was an assistant state attorney at the Palm Beach State Attorney’s Office from 1995 to 1996, and from 1997 to 2006, and was managing partner of Martz-Curie, PA from 1996 to 1997. Before receiving his law degree, Judge Martz served as a law enforcement officer in Clarkstown, New York, from 1979 to 1992, and Santa Monica, California, from 1977 to 1979. Judge Martz earned his bachelor’s degree from Empire State College in New York. He earned his law degree from the Shepard Broad Law Center in 1995.
Judge Martz will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Edward A. Garrison.
