Gittings, Women’s Golf Win Saint Leo Invitational

Abbey Gittings

The Nova Southeastern women’s golf team won the Saint Leo Invitational at the par-72 Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club on Tuesday, Oct. 16, shooting a +10 (300-286–586) and winning by 16 strokes.

Abbey Gittings (Sr., Tamworth, England) won the individual title, the first of her senior campaign. Gittings held a share of the lead going into the final round after shooting a 71 on the previous day. She repeated her score on Tuesday when she took home the title and finished the tournament at -2 (71-71—142), becoming the only player to finish under par.

“This was a great preview to the SSC Championship, which will be at the Lake Jovita Country Club as well,” said head coach Amanda Brown. “It was another great team win for us, and I’m proud of Abbey for adding another individual title to her record.” Click here to read the complete release.
