Giombetti earns SSC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Nova Southeastern men’s soccer goalkeeper, Andrea Giombetti (So., Rome, Italy), has been named Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week. This was announced by the Conference office on Monday, Oct. 1.
Giombetti earned two conference wins in goal, including a shutout versus No. 1 Lynn. He began his week with two saves in a 2-1 road win at Florida Southern. The lone goal surrendered by the keeper came on a Moccasin penalty kick.
Giombetti then came up with four big saves in a 1-0 victory over the Fighting Knights. The previously unbeaten Knights ranked in the top-two of every SSC team offensive statistical category. Click here to read the complete release.
