Fundraiser Benefits UM/NSU Center for Autism & Related Disabilities

(L to R) Melinda, Jason and Jonathan Mizrachi; Senator Nan Rich; Luis Grana, CARD NSU satellite director; Michelle Costa; Jennifer Durocher, Ph.D., CARD clinical director; Rick Folbaum, CBS4 news anchor; Chris Trujillo; and Rick Doucette, Everglades Holiday Park.

More than 700 guests attended the Jonathan’s Day celebration and fundraiser at Everglades Holiday Park on October 11, 2015. The event raised more than $7,000 to support University of Miami/Nova Southeastern Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (CARD), a non-profit organization providing direct services to over 9,000 South Florida families affected by autism.

This day of acceptance and adventure offered air boat tours, live gator presentations by Animal Planet’s Gator Boys and more. Sponsored in part by CBS4, Jonathan’s Day is named in honor of Jonathan Mizrachi, the fun-loving 11-year-old son of a CBS4/My 33 employee. CBS4 News Anchor Rick Folbaum emceed the Jonathan’s Day festivities.

A very big thank you to Everglades Holiday Park and CBS4 for making this possible, and to Senator Nan Rich, Commissioner Martin Kiar, CBS4’s Rick Folbaum and his family, and KISS Country’s Darlene Evans for their support and helping make this event such a big success!
