FREE Quit Smoking Now Six-Week Group Program Begins
It’s never too late to quit. Within 20 minutes of the last cigarette, the body goes through a series of positive changes to improve health that will continue for years to come.
A new Quit Smoking Now group will begin on Aug. 18. The group meets for 90 minutes weekly from 6 – 7:30 p.m. for six weeks (group meeting dates: Aug. 18, 25, Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22).
Quit Smoking Now is facilitated by professionals from NSU’s Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) and Healthy Lifestyles Guided Self-Change programs, and is offered in group and individual settings. The program is designed to motivate and help smokers prepare to quit, select a quit date, and learn strategies to quit and stay tobacco-free.
The Quit Smoking Now program is FREE for NSU employees, students, and immediate family members. Participants will also receive a FREE six-week supply of non-prescription Nicotine Replacement Therapy (gum, patches) while supplies last.
