Franchise Institute Announces Home-Based Business Development Series
The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s International Institute for Franchise Education (IIFE) will offer a Home-Based Business Development Series in Fall 2010 and Spring 2011. This six-session program is designed for people who want to learn more about running a home-based business.
The sessions, which will be taught by successful entrepreneurs, business leaders from the community, and distinguished Huizenga School professors, will discuss topics such as:
- Nuts-and-bolts of starting and operating a home-based business
- Mechanics of a feasibility study and business plan
- Legal structures and which one is right for your business
- When and how to navigate tax returns
- Types of insurance you will need
- How to get financing
- Pitfalls of hiring and firing
- How to develop a marketing and sales strategy
