Entry-level College of Nursing students from NSU’s Fort Myers campus are currently completing their Population Health Practicum. In this class, students learn about providing health care in rural and undeserved areas and the challenges that come associated with patients from these communities. One of the resources the students learned about was the Ronald McDonald bus from Healthcare Network in Collier County. This bus goes into underserved communities to provide physicals, hearing and vision screenings, and dental care to children who may have obstacles to health care access such as lack of transportation or health insurance and/or language barriers.
