Miss Florida Teen USA Visits Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences
MiKyle Crockett, 2011 Miss Florida Teen USA, recently came to main campus and met with Don Rosenblum, Ph.D., dean of the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences. Crockett was here to shoot promotional videos and photos highlighting NSU as a scholarship sponsor to the annual pageant. The video will be shown at the upcoming statewide pageant.
Crockett, who is from Jacksonville, has been offered a four-year, $10,000-per-year tuition scholarship to NSU by the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences if she elects to attend the university and is successfully admitted into the college’s Professional and Liberal Studies (PALS) program.
For more than a decade, the college has recognized the Miss Florida Teen USA pageant winners each year and has offered tuition support toward an NSU education.
Four Miss Florida Teen USA contestants and four Miss Florida Teen U.S. Continental pageant winners have attended NSU on scholarships provided by the college, pursuing a wide range of academic programs from communication studies and psychology to graphic design and criminal justice. Many regularly earned the Dean’s List for academic achievement, and the majority also received additional institutional merit scholarships, such as the Nova Southeastern University Honors Award.
