Fischler Student Raises Autism Awareness by “Going Blue”

NSU Abraham S. Fischler School of Education student Amy Peterson recently helped her community “go blue” to show their support for autism awareness.

Peterson, a student from Pocahontas, Iowa, is in NSU’s distance Speech, Language, and Communication Disorders master’s program. While working on a project in April for Autism Awareness Month, Peterson was able to gain the support of local chain Casey’s General Store which has 1,600 locations across the state.

Casey’s General Store agreed to frost all of its cookies and donuts blue to show its support for autism.
