Fischler College of Education Welcomes Doctoral Students to Campus for Summer Institute
NSU’s Fischler College of Education held its annual Summer Institute from July 8-10 and welcomed 300 domestic, Puerto Rican, and international students to the Ft. Lauderdale Campus. Summer Institute is an opportunity for doctoral students and faculty to engage in academic dialogue. The students are grouped into tracks based on their progress with their dissertation paper. In addition to the class room sessions, the students participated in a scavenger hunt to familiarize themselves with the campus and networked with each other at the receptions.
During Summer Institute, the College also hosted the 6th Latin American University Leaders Conference with participants from Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, El Salvador, and Peru. Topics discussed were accreditation, development, technology, flipped classrooms, research collaboration, and distance education were discussed with the aim to create a network among university presidents and people in leadership positions that can affect positive change in their respective institutions of higher education.
