Fischler College of Education Faculty members Present at Teacher Idea Expo
On Saturday, February 4, the Broward Education Foundation held its 20th Annual Innovative Teacher Idea Expo for Broward County Public School teachers at Nova Southeastern University. More than 500 teachers were in attendance for various professional development workshops and other classroom activities.
Faculty members Jia Borror, Angie Su, and Michael Gaffley presented the workshop, Finding Your Inner Strengths and alumnus, Kyle Jeter, headlined the morning session with a presentation on the evolution of his teaching career. He credits his ability to create a student-centered, modern classroom as a result of a grant from the Broward Education Foundation as well as his education from NSU’s Fischler College of Education. Mr. Jeter teaches Astronomy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland and was named the 2017 Broward County Teacher of the Year.
