Fischler College of Education Alumna Receives Appointment at Miami Dade College
Claudia Bonilla, Ed.D., a graduate of NSU’s Fischler College of Education (FCE) was appointed Chairperson of the Mathematics Department at Miami Dade College (North Campus).
Prior to this appointment, Bonilla worked in the Office of Information and Innovation Technology as the Manager of Client Support Services. Bonilla has more than 10 years of experience teaching mathematics in several institutions of higher education. Bonilla also initiated the Blacks in Innovation at NSU, an event that brings students from Broward Middle School to NSU campus during the Black History Month for a series of workshops, and trainings in innovative technology.
Bonilla has a B.S. in Computer Information Systems and a M.S. in Mathematics Education from Nova Southeastern University. She completed her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Organizational Leadership in 2015 under the guidance of Silvia Orta, Ed.D., and Marcelo Castro, Ph.D.
