Finance and Econ Professor Briefs the Business Community on 2012 Outlook
Albert Williams, Ph.D., Chair of Finance and Economics, gave a presentation to members of the Florida Business Travel Association (FBTA) on Jan. 11 at the Hilton in Deerfield Beach, Florida. His topic was “The 2012 Economic Forecast: Looking at both the U.S. and Florida.”
Williams briefed the audience on how both the U.S. and Florida are expected to grow at a rate of 1.4 percent in 2012, which as a slow rate of growth, lends itself to cautious investments. He recommended that businesses keep a cushion of funds to weather the uncertainty. This seminar was attended by professionals from hotels, internet travel services, travel offices, car rental corporations and the airline industry.
