Film Viewing of Documentary, “13th” and Student Panel Discussion, Feb. 28
NSU’s Black History Month celebration continues with the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and the Shepard Broad College of Law hosting a 8:00 pm viewing of the documentary, “13th,” by award-winning director Ava DuVernay.
The title references the 13th amendment which formally abolished slavery, as the film examines the prison labor system as a money-making, modern day form of slavery. Following the film, there will be a discussion with students and attendees. Refreshments will be provided. Location: Alvin Sherman Library, 3rd floor.
Free and open to the public. For more information, send email to ac2365@nova.edu or call 954-552-2429.
