Film and Art Talk: La Belle Vie: The Good Life
La Belle Vie: The Good Life is a story about a Haitian – American filmmaker, Rachelle Salnave’s journey to discover her Haitian roots by examining the complexities if the Haitian society as it pertains to the overall political and economic dichotomy in Haiti. Using her own personal family stories interconnected with capturing the voices of Haitians and expects overall, this film chronologically uncovers the rationale behind its social class system by also how it has affected the Haitian American migration experience as well.
The film screening begins at 6 pm and will be followed by a discussion with filmmaker Rachelle Salnave at 7:15 pm.
Free and open to the public as part of NSU Art Museum’s Summer Starry Nights event.
