FCE’s Hispanic Heritage Committee Collects School Supplies and Toys for Two South Florida Schools Affected by Hurricane Irma
NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education Hispanic Heritage Committee, celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by giving.
The committee collected school supplies and toys for two South Florida Schools which were heavily affected by Hurricane Irma, Big Pine Academy, located in the Florida Keys and Rayma C. Page Elementary School in Ft. Myers.
Both schools have a special connection with the Fischler College. The daughters of faculty member Jennifer Reeves, Ph.D., attend school at Big Pine Academy, while one of FCE’s students, Jason Thomashefsky, teaches at Rayma C. Page Elementary School.
