FCEs First Cohort of the ITDE Program Hosts a Reunion
The first cohort of the Instructional Technology and Distant Education doctoral program at NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education (FCE) held a reunion in the beginning of March.
The graduates held two small gatherings with some folks flying in from North Carolina, New York, California, and Tennessee to be part of the festivities. Many haven’t seen each other since they graduated in 1999.
The event provided time to catch-up on how their doctoral degrees affected their years and careers following graduation. Also, it was time to get together and reminisce for the first time about their three years of camaraderie during their blended learning experience. Memories and laughter filled both evening events and it seemed as if the group had never been separated by the 19 years. A great time was had by all. Plans were made to stick together and have a bi-yearly celebration. A cruise reunion in 2020 was suggested and plans are being considered.
