FCE’s Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership Granted Accreditation by the University Council of Jamaica
NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education (FCE) Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program in Organizational Leadership was granted accreditation by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ). The Ed.D. program in Organizational Leadership has undergone a rigorous self-study and peer review and meets the UCJ’s guidelines and standards for educational quality in its tertiary system. On October 26, 2017 Professor Emeritus, Susan Davis, Ed.D., attended the UCJ’s 30th Year Anniversary Luncheon Celebration where she accepted, on behalf of NSU, the Certificate of Accreditation from Dr. Carolyn Hayle, UCJ Chairperson.
This approval applies to students currently completing the hybrid version of the Ed.D. program in the Organizational Leadership concentration. In the past, the UCJ accredited other FCE programs including the Bachelor of Science in Applied Professional Studies, the Master of Science in education, and the Ed.D. in Instructional Technology Distance Education and Child Youth Studies. The UCJ currently accredits more than 300 programs at various institutions in Jamaica, and continues to be the standard-bearer for quality assurance in tertiary education.
The Fischler College of Education is also accredited and/or licensed by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), Department of Education (Florida/Nevada), the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ), and several states within the United States.
