NSU’s Fischler College of Education 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner is Noris Price, Ed.D.

Price serves as the Superintendent of Baldwin County Schools (Georgia), a position she has held since 2014. Under her leadership, the Baldwin County School District has implemented instructional initiatives and strategies that have resulted in improved student performance and increased the high school graduation rate by 22 percent. Additionally, she has been successful in obtaining over 4 million dollars in grant funds for the Baldwin County Schools and leading the school district through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/Council on Accreditation and School Improvement district accreditation process. She also led the Baldwin County School District through the Charter System process.

Price has more than 30 years in public education, receiving numerous awards and honors, including the University of Georgia Johnnie V. Cox Leadership Award, the American Association of School Administrators Women in School Leadership Award, the Distinguished Title I District Award for Closing the Achievement GAP, the Georgia PTA Outstanding Principal, a National PTA Lifetime Membership, and the GAESP School Bell and Educational Patron. Recently, Georgia’s Governor, Nathan Deal, named her to serve on the Education Reform Commission.

Last month, Price was honored with two service awards. One by the Boy Scouts of Central Georgia, receiving the Whitney M. Young Service Award, and the John Milledge Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award. The organizations cited her tireless commitment and dedication to the community through her service to the public schools in Baldwin County Georgia.

Price earned her doctorate of education from FCE in 2006.
