FCE Professor Serves on the District Screening Committee for the Broward County Public Schools 2018 Caliber Awards
Michael Gaffley, Ed.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Higher Education Leadership & Instructional Technology, at NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education served on the District Screening Committee for the Broward County Public Schools 2018 Caliber Awards. The committee reviewed and scored applications, and conducted interviews for the 2019 Teacher of the Year and the 2018 Principal, Assistant Principal and School-Related/District Employee of the Year nominees. The awards were held on February 1st at the Broward County Convention Center.
Gaffley teaches courses in Leadership, Human Resource Development, Leading Change and Diversity and Ethics. He is also a certified Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYC-P), having directed intervention work with sexually, physically and emotionally abused children and youth, as well as with foster care and socially excluded families in high risk environments. Additionally, he worked with the Mandela government to implement the Reconstruction and Development Program (RDP).
