FCE Professor Invited to Serve as an Expert Advisor to the Yoga Alliance
Lisa Carbone, Ed.D., Assistant Professor and Director of Licensure and Compliance at NSU’s Fischler College of Education (FCE), has been invited to serve as an expert advisor to the Yoga Alliance, the largest international nonprofit association representing the yoga community. She will participate in the Yoga Alliance’s Standards Review Project (the first review for the organization). As a participating advisor, Dr. Carbone will assist with a comprehensive review of the current yoga teaching standards in the area of “Inclusion” in the field of yoga.
Dr. Carbone has been a registered yoga teacher since 2011, and has studied and practiced yoga for almost 20 years. She was formerly awarded the NSU’s Presidents Research Development Grant in 2014 for her research study titled “The Impact of Yoga Therapy on Veterans with PTSD.” The Standards Review Project brings together thought and field leaders, not-for-profit and for-profit business leaders, and yoga practitioners from around the world in a comprehensive and inclusive process.
Yoga Alliance is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) membership professional and trade association.
