FCE Graduate Selected for the 2018 Cohort of the NEA Foundation’s Global Learning Fellowship
Joe Underwood, Ed.D., graduate of NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education (FCE) has been nominated as one of 48 public school educators selected for the 2018 cohort of the NEA Foundation’s Global Learning Fellowship. The Fellowship offers educators 12 months of professional development focused on global competencies.
Over the course of a year, the NEA Foundation staff, partners, and field experts will support Underwood as he participates in online coursework, webinars, a two-day professional development workshop held earlier this month and a nine-day international field study in Summer 2018. The anticipated field study destination is South Africa.
Underwood earned his Doctorate of Education from FCE in 2006 with a concentration in Educational Leadership. For the past 33 years, he has taught TV production at Miami Senior High School, the oldest secondary school in Miami-Dade County. Additionally, Underwood is a current adjunct professor in FCE’s Athletic Administration program.
