FCE Graduate Launches Diversity Telehealth’s Pediatric Telebehavioral Health Pilot

Shelley J. Cooper, graduate of NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education, founded Diversity Telehealth in 2014, a telemedicine consulting firm that specializes in bringing healthcare to underserved populations in diverse communities. She recently launched her first pediatric telebehavioral health pilot this past Spring at Benjamin Banneker Charter Academy of Technology in Kansas City, Missouri where students used laptops to speak with therapists.
In addition to Diversity Telehealth, Shelley serves as President of Jack and Jill of America Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated.
Shelley graduated with her Doctorate of Education from the Fischler College of Education in 2014. Her dissertation, “Opinion Leaders’ Perspective of the Benefits and Barriers in Telemedicine: A Grounded Theory Study of Telehealth in the Midwest” laid the foundation for the establishment of Diversity Telehealth.
