FCE Doctoral Student recognized by the Florida Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators
Joan O’Brien, a doctoral student for STEM Studies at NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education, recently received the 2016 Graduate Student of the Year Award. The award was given by the Florida Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators during the Florida Council of Teachers Mathematics annual Conference in Orlando.
The purpose of this award is to acknowledge a mathematics education doctoral student who has shown active involvement in mathematics education at the university, state, and/or national level and who shows potential for success in the field across the areas of teaching, research and service.
O’Brien is a currently a secondary mathematical instructional specialist for Broward County Schools.
