FCE Alum Named Assistant Dean at the College of Education at Montclair State University

Christopher Conzen, Ed.D.

Christopher Conzen, Ed.D., graduate of NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education, has been named Assistant Dean for Student Services and Administrative Affairs at the College of Education at Montclair State University.

Conzen has worked in higher education for 17 years, with stops at New Jersey’s William Paterson University, Suffolk County Community College, and LIM College, both in New York. During his career, he has progressively advanced through various levels of student services work, consistently keeping students at the center of his focus. In his current role, Conzen supervises the Directors of Advising, Career Services, and Technology, as well as the Web and Social Media Manager. Conzen is an innovative professional who incorporates new technologies and high impact practices to create a vibrant and holistic student experience.

Conzen graduated from the Catholic University of America with a BA in Social work, followed by the University of Maryland College Park with a M.Ed. in College Student Personnel. He graduated from NSU’s Fischler College of Education in 2015, with an Ed.D., in Higher Education Administration.  His dissertation was titled, “A Comparison of Leadership Development Between Students Attending Community Colleges Versus 4-Year Colleges.”
