Farquhar College to Present Festival of Student Works – April 3–5

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Performing and Visual Arts will present its Festival of Student Works, April 3–5, 2009, in the college’s Performing and Visual Arts Wing of the Don Taft University Center. The event will feature showcases of students’ work in dance, theatre, music, and art in various venues throughout the weekend. Each event will immediately follow its predecessor.

On April 3 and 4, from 7 to 7:45 p.m. in the Performance Theatre, the division will present a series of new, exciting dance works choreographed by NSU dance students. There will also be the third-annual Student-Directed One-Acts theater event beginning at 8 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre.

On Sunday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m. also in the Performance Theatre, there will be performances by the Bossa Nova Chorale and students enrolled in the musical theatre and applied music classes.

Also on display, from March 23 to April 15, is the Juried Student Exhibition, featuring the works of students who have completed the college’s studio art courses from this academic year. The exhibit is located in the Don Taft University Center, room 217. Throughout the weekend, there will be special hours for the exhibition: Friday, April 3, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 4, from 3 to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, April 5, from noon to 3 p.m.

Admission to the performances is free, but reservations are required. To reserve seats, email nsutheatre@nova.edu or call (954) 262-8179.
