Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Associate Professor Earns Third Patent
Saeed Rajput, Ph.D., associate professor and assistant director of the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Math, Science, and Technology, earned his third patent on Nov. 19.

According to published details of the patent, Rajput’s collaborative invention provides “a method of enhancing information privacy and confidentiality.” In summary, “the system intercepts messages between an information source and an information destination, modifies the message contents based on redaction rules, and forwards the redacted contents over to the client.” Complying with an organization’s privacy policy, the system serves to maintain a database of secure information for said organization.
This is Rajput’s and Hussain’s third collaborative patent. In 2002, the pair received a patent on their method and apparatus for binding electronic impressions made by digital identities to documents, also working alongside Shabbir Khan. A year prior, the trio earned a patent on automated software metering of digital payloads.
At NSU, Rajput teaches courses in computer and network security, software design patterns, and computer engineering. His academic areas of focus include application security, software engineering, and digital communications, among others.
