FAFSA for 2015-2016 Financial Aid Now Available
Students who have not yet completed the 2015-2016 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are encouraged to do so at www.fafsa.gov. The earlier students complete the FAFSA, the better chance they have of receiving the maximum amount of aid for which they may be eligible. 2014 income tax returns are not needed to file the FAFSA. Students (or parents of dependent students) may estimate their income and tax figures based on prior year information. However, once 2014 income tax returns have been filed, students and parents must update their financial information. The easiest and most accurate way to update information is to use the IRS Data Retrieval System which is expected to be available in early February.
The FAFSA determines students’ eligibility for grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and loans, and is the essential first step in receiving financial aid from federal, state, institutional, and private sources. More information on financial aid is available at www.nova.edu/financialaid.
