The next talk in the Faculty Lecture Series, hosted by the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, will explore life for an illegal immigrant living in the United States.

“The Life and Death of an Illegal Immigrant”

This lecture will include a discussion of the paths taken by undocumented immigrants entering the country and the direction their lives take in the United States. Dixon will examine immigrants from various regions and present a composite of the “typical” undocumented immigrant life, including employment, living circumstances, and the relations between illegal immigrants and the various levels of government with which they come into contact. To conclude, the talk will look at recent changes in immigration laws and their impact on the lives of recent as well as longtime undocumented residents.
The Faculty Lecture Series draws from the knowledge and expertise of more than 120 full-time faculty members within the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences. The Series explores the faculty’s diverse areas of interest in the arts, humanities, social sciences, physical sciences, and biological sciences. These talks are free and open to the public.
