“The Many Faces of George Washington” Exhibit & Related Events Now at NSU’s Library

NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library will be hosting “The Many Faces of George Washington” exhibit in its Second Floor Gallery now through Sunday, Nov. 18.

The FREE exhibit is a national traveling panel exhibition produced by the Mount Vernon’s Ladies Association in conjunction with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. The exhibit is supported by a generous grant from the F.M. Kirby Foundation.

Several FREE programs and events are also being offered in conjunction with the exhibit, including:

Sharkey’s Storytime: Salute the Troops!
Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
(Ages 3-5 with caregiver)
In celebration of Veteran’s Day, make a card for a veteran. Your cards will be delivered to the Paralyzed Veterans Association of Florida. Did you know that George Washington was one of America’s first veterans?

For Adults

The Many Faces of George Washington: A History Colloquium
Saturday, Nov. 10 from 1-4 p.m.

Learn about current research on the life and work of George Washington. Presenters include Edward G. Lengel, American military historian and professor at the University of Virginia. Lengel is the editor-in-chief of The Papers of George Washington and is the author of General George Washington: A Military Life, and Inventing George Washington: America’s Founder, in Myth and Memory.
