Essential Skills for Supervisors Courses Begin May 14
The Office of Human Resources has announced the next sessions of Leadership Certification in its ongoing Essential Skills for Supervisors Series. This is an interactive training program for supervisors and includes participation in a work-related project to provide real-life application of the skills learned.
Sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays from May 14 through July 16, 2009. Courses offered include:
May 14: Management Philosophy
May 21: Performance Management
May 28: Legal Employment Issues for Supervisors
June 4: Communication Styles/MBTI
June 11: Job Creation to Candidate Selection (replaced Supervisor Orientation)
June 25: Change Management
July 2: Conflict Management
July 9: Diversity
July 16: Presentation and Peer Review Session
All classes will be held in University Park Plaza North, Room 108.
Seating is limited. Register online at http://www.nova.edu/cwis/hrd/training/. Choose “Leadership Certification” on the registration form to enroll in all nine sessions or choose “Essential Skills for Supervisors” to register for classes individually.
