Essay Contest Winners Receive Fischler School Scholarships
NSU’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services recently announced the winners of more than $15,000 in scholarships from the annual Miami HEAT/Fischler School essay contest. The winners submitted a 250-words-or-fewer essay on the theme: “Tell us why you or someone you know would cause an effect and change the world with a college degree.”
The winners were:
- Grand Prize: $10,000 scholarship to NSU’s Fischler School
Yvonne Yearwood of Plantation - First-Place Prize: $5,000 scholarship to NSU’s Fischler School
Eric Atkins of Miami - Second-Place Prize: $2,500 scholarship to NSU’s Fischler School
Veranika Johnson of Miramar
The essays were judged by a panel of Fischler School faculty and administrators on the basis of content and overall theme concept.
