ESS Helps Students Close Financial Gaps During Move in Days
Enrollment and Student Services (ESS) hosted its first Move In Days initiative the week of August 21-24, 2013. As new and returning students arrived in droves for orientation programs and housing check-in, this was a wonderful opportunity to meet with students and families to assist them in closing gaps between their financial obligations and their payment arrangements.
While regular offices in the Horvitz Administration Building remained open, students with financial holds could also meet with Student Accounts staff at The Commons residential hall or Financial Aid counselors at the DeSantis building to finalize their plans. Shuttle buses and golf carts escorted families back and forth to ease the campus “commute.” Once holds were lifted, more than 500 students seen were able to continue with course registration, pick up their room keys, and move in.
