The International Institute for Franchise Education (IIFE) in the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University formally welcomed the winners of this year’s Entrepreneurship Summer Camp and Personal Enrichment Program (E.S.C.A.P.E.) Scholarship Contest to NSU’s main campus in Fort Lauderdale on Monday, Mar. 25.

This year’s winners are:
•    Blake Bierman – 10th grader – American Heritage High School, Plantation
•    Elizabeth Furey – 10th grader – McFatter Technical High School, Davie
•    Jordann Richards – 10th grader – Northeast High School, Oakland Park
•    Anna Singh – 10th grader – Hollywood Hills High School, Hollywood

Blake, Elizabeth, Jordann, and Anna will each receive a full scholarship to attend a session of this summer’s E.S.C.A.P.E. entrepreneurship summer camp for high school students.

Applicants for the scholarship contest were required to write an essay on the business they would like to start, with winners chosen on the basis of the best articulated business concepts.

IIFE congratulates this year’s winners and thanks Great Clips, Safeguard Business Systems, and SUBWAY restaurants for providing the scholarships.

E.S.C.A.P.E. — the Entrepreneurship Summer Camp and Personal Enrichment Program — educates and inspires tomorrow’s entrepreneurs by introducing them to business concepts and ethics in a fun and highly interactive educational environment.  The camp program is open to all highly motivated high school students in grades 9-12 who have a passion for business and want to learn more about entrepreneurship.

Campers learn about the process of starting a business and explore business plan formulation, marketing, finance and accounting, leadership, business ethics, and business etiquette.  During the week-long sessions, they develop a marketing plan for their business idea through engaging exercises and activities, lively discussions, and lectures from NSU professors and South Florida business leaders.

E.S.C.A.P.E. Summer Camp is held in the Huizenga Business School at NSU. Session dates for Summer 2012 are Jun. 11-15 and Jul. 23-27. For more information and/or to register, please contact Niemah Butler at 954-262-5092 or visit www.huizenga.nova.edu/ESCAPE. Nova employees, faculty, students, and alumni will receive a 20% discount on camp registrations for their family members.
