Erika Garcia Named SSC Softball Player of Year

NSU softball team senior Erika Garcia is the 2014 Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, as voted on by the coaches and announced on Tuesday, May 6 by the league office.
Garcia (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) led the Sharks and the SSC with 16 doubles, ranked second in the conference with 48 RBI and finished third with 94 total bases. Her .378 batting average was fourth in the league and she was even better against SSC competition, hitting .409 with a .652 slugging percentage. Complete Release
