Eric Moate Named PBC Track Athlete of the Week
After a career-best performance in the 200m dash at the Miami Hurricane Invitational last weekend, Nova Southeastern track and field senior Eric Moate was named Peach Belt Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
“Eric is running really well this year, he’s giving it all for his senior season,” said head coach Bryan Hagopian. “I know Eric has more because he looks like he is just warming up, so I’ll be ready for even faster times as we progress in the season.”
Moate claims his third award all time and first this season after the product of Lakeland, Fla. set a career-best in the 200m dash with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 21.20s against a competition field of mostly Division I athletes. With the time, Moate placed third in the event and now sits atop the Peach Belt Conference standings in the event. Later in the meet, Moate placed seventh in the 100m dash at 10.68s.
