Entrepreneur Hall of Fame Inducts Three South Florida Business Leaders


President George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D.; Joel L. Altman; George Feldenkreis; Philip P. Smith; and Interim Dean Preston Jones, D.B.A.


The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship inducted three business leaders into its 2012 Entrepreneur Hall of Fame on April 18. Joining the distinguished class of entrepreneurs this year were Joel L. Altman, chairman and chief executive officer of The Altman Companies; George Feldenkreis, chairman and chief executive officer of Perry Ellis International; and Philip P. Smith, chairman and chief executive officer of Phil Smith Management, Incorporated. More than 550 guests attended the induction ceremony which was held at the Signature Grand in Davie.

The Entrepreneur Hall of Fame was established in 1990 to honor the lifetime achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs, including members such as H. Wayne Huizenga, Terry W. Stiles, Ronald G. Assaf, Jordan Zimmerman, Carl DeSantis , John H. Schnatter, Steven J. Halmos, Beverly Raphael Altman, and Don Taft to name a few.
