Get a Holiday Shopping Jump Start at 13th Annual University School Merchandise Mart, Oct. 26
Mark your calendars for a spectacular day of shopping, food, and fun, as it is time for the 14th Annual University School Merchandise Mart on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
This boutique, hosted by the University Family Organization (UFO), will be held in the school’s Brown Sports Center from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. that day. The event is free and open to the public.
With more than 50 vendors selling merchandise for all tastes and budgets, this is an event not to be missed. The mart will help you get a jump start on your holiday shopping list, featuring everything from dinnerware, home accents, jewelry, and handbags to apparel for the whole family, sports memorabilia, and much more.
Be sure to bring an appetite, as the extensive food court will also be serving an impressive array of delectable dishes from local restaurants and caterers. The “USchool Sweet Shop” will also help satisfy the cravings of even the biggest chocoholics and sweets fanatics with baked goods including brownies, cookies, pies, and cakes and candy.
This year, there will also be 7 food trucks, and several food carts located in the circle in front of the Epstein Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will serve everything from frozen lemonade and shaved ice, to grilled cheese and Philly cheese steaks, to vegan dishes and wraps.
The UFO is comprised of parents of students currently enrolled in University School. This parent-volunteer organization has made the mart a successful tradition at the school for the past 13 years. The chairs for this year’s event include Boutique Chairs Elizabeth Boisvert and Shelley Goldstein; Food Chairs Melanie Gowen and Stacey Berube; and Sweet Shop chairs Melissa Morim and Cherie Gavsie, all of whom are active members and volunteers of the UFO.
