Emergency Response Practice Drill to Be Held on Campus, April 9

EmergencyDrill-SharkTube

NSU will be engaging in its first Main Campus Training Exercise and Drill in the Rosenthal Student Center to test several components of our ability to identify, respond to, and notify the NSU Community about an emergency on campus. The exercise will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Rosenthal Student Center, which will be closed for the duration of the drill.

This training exercise will not require the closing of Don Taft University Center or any other locations on the main campus. While police and other first responder activity will be seen by pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the immediate University Center area, most regular activity will not be impacted by this drill.

We will be testing several components of Nova Southeastern University’s and the surrounding community’s emergency response capabilities. These capabilities include:

  • NSU Mass Notification System including mass e-mail, mobile text, and voice messaging service
  • NSU Public Safety Officers’ Response
  • Davie Police Response
  • Davie Fire Rescue Response

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Office of Public Safety at (954) 262-8999.
