Emergency Response Practice Drill, March 14
On Wednesday, March 14, the NSU Alert Notification System will be tested at 2:00 p.m. university-wide. No action is required by the NSU community. This is only a test.
All NSU personnel will be notified via The NSU Alert test at 2:00 p.m. by:
-NSU Mass Notification System including mass email, mobile text, and voice messaging service
-Computer pop-up alerts (all campuses)
-Outdoor speakers (Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus, East Campus, Oceanographic Campus, Palm Beach Campus, and Fort Myers Campus)
-Emergency classroom intercoms and phones (Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus, NMB Campus, Miami Campus, Orlando Campus, Puerto Rico Regional Campus)
-NSU Public Safety portable bullhorns and vehicle public address systems
Additional communication channels will be used to notify all NSU personnel and visitors to campus of the emergency response practice drill.
NSU will be conducting a multiagency, emergency response practice drill on NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie campus in the northwest corner (Suite numbers 3400 and 3406) of University Park Plaza (UPP) to test several components of our ability to identify, respond to, and notify the NSU community about an emergency on campus between 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
A number of parking spaces at UPP will be reserved for the different agencies that are participating in the drill. The remainder of UPP will be open for normal operations.
