Education Faculty Members Recognized for Distance Learning Books
The Division of Distance Learning of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology has granted the Information Age Publishing Distance Education Book Award 2011 to books co-edited by Michael Simonson, Ph.D., and Anymir Orellana, Ed.D., professors from the Abraham S. Fischler School of Education. The award is granted to outstanding books published within the last three years that describes important aspects of distance education, theory or examples that can help others involved in distance education, or research on an important aspect of distance education.
First and second place, respectively, were granted to the books Teaching and Learning at a Distance: Foundations of Distance Education, (5th Ed.) by Michael Simonson, Sharon Smaldino, Michael Albright, and Susan Zvacek (Eds.); and to The Perfect Online Course: Best Practices for Designing and Teaching by Anymir Orellana, Terry L. Hudgins, and Michael Simonson (Eds.).
