Sharks’ varsity four

Competing against a field that featured some of the most skilled crews in the nation at the 2012 Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta, the No. 3 Nova Southeastern rowing team saw its varsity four capture its second championship in three years, while the varsity eight finished second.

The Sharks’ varsity four boat of: coxswain Heather Clayton (Sr., Mullica Township, N.J.), Sarah Patterson (Jr., Winter Park, Fla.), Amanda Craig (Fr., Berlin, N.J.), Remi McClellan (Fr., Mullica, N.J.) and Jessica Sutter (Sr., Key Largo, Fla.) left no doubt that they would be competing in the finals, winning their semifinal heat with a time of 7:30.45. Second-place Florida State also earned a spot in the finals with a time of 7:34.09.

In the finals on Saturday afternoon, the Sharks’ varsity four continued to row efficiently and aggressively, leading to a first-place finish with a time of 7:43.40. NSU topped second-place Bowdoin by just under four seconds, as the Polar Bears notched a time of 7:47.38. Complete Release.
