Diversity Dialogs: The Trayvon Martin Reality

You need not look any further than within our South Florida community to understand the importance of racial tolerance and cross-cultural dialogs. As a special prosecutor begins to weigh-in on the witness accounts surrounding death of 17 year old Trayvon Martin, it is evident that the highly-publicized tragedy has many implications for cross-cultural relations within our society. Accordingly, on Apr. 3, NSU faculty, staff and students met and discussed “The Trayvon Martin Reality.” This month’s hour-long Diversity Dialogues was facilitated by Debra Nixon, Ph.D.
