Discover the Arts in 2011 with New Season of the Family-Friendly Interactive Ferro Series at NSU’s Library
The new year brings with it an exciting array of performances designed to give children, families and art enthusiasts alike a fun, interactive look at the fine arts with the 2011 season of the Ferro Fine Arts Series at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center.
Already, more than 200 youngsters and their families were able to enjoy Opera For Kids on Jan. 15.
Upcoming highlights of the 2011 season include dance performances, writing workshops, and sculpting. Here is the complete list of the season’s activities:
Momentum Dance Company Presents “Alice In Wonderland” (all ages)
Saturday, Feb. 12 from 2-3 p.m. 1st Floor
Momentum Dance Company Presents “How We Make Dances”: An interactive Dance Workshop for Children (all ages)
Saturday, Feb. 26 from 2-3 p.m.
Comedy writing for kids with author Gloria Rothstein*
Two sessions on Sunday, March 6:
- Session 1: from 1-2 p.m. for ages 7-8
- Session 2: from 3:30-4:40 p.m. for ages 9-12
Just “Write” for the Fun of It!*
Two sessions on Tuesday, March 15:
- Session 1: from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. for ages 7-8
- Session 2: from 1:30-2:30 p.m. for ages 9-12
Create a sculpture with Divitto and Andrea Kelly (all ages)*
Saturday, April 16 from 2-3 p.m. in Room 1017
Meet The Illustrators: Chuck Fischer and Henry Cole (all ages)
Sunday, May 1 from 2-4 p.m.
The series is presented by the Charles P. Ferro Foundation. All events are FREE and open to the public and will be held in the Alvin Sherman Library on NSU’s main campus, at 3301 College Ave. in Davie.
