Three Dinner with the Dean events were held in October for prospective undergraduate students and family members to mingle with university leadership, faculty, and Undergraduate Admissions staff and learn about degree programs and scholarships available to incoming students.  Hosted by Enrollment and Student Services Vice President Stephanie G. Brown, Ed.D., guests were interested in hearing  mini-lectures and stories of how the deans came to their profession through their own undergraduate careers.

On October 3, 2013, the program focused on Athletic Training and Exercise and Sport Science majors offered through the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences (FCAS).  Dean Don Rosenblum, Ph.D., introduced Associate Professor Elizabeth Swann, Ph.D., ATC, Athletic Training Program Director, who presented on the topic “Concussion or Headache?”

Future teachers enjoyed meeting Dean H. Wells Singleton, Ph.D., at the October 10, 2013 dinner for the Abraham S. Fischler School of Education.  Dean Singleton; Jamie Manburg, Ed.D., Associate Dean; and Terry Davis, M.S., Director of Undergraduate Enrollment and Recruitment for the Fischler School; all recounted their first teaching experiences and their love for the profession.

Political Science, Legal Studies, and History prospective students joined another FCAS Dinner on October 17, 2013. Guests received a welcome from Mensima Biney, M.S., Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, and Don Rosenblum, Ph.D., dean of the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences.  Professor Charles Zelden, Ph.D., delivered an interesting talk on his research, entitled  “Thurgood Marshall and the Struggle for a More Perfect Union.”
